Our annual Mixed Away Day at Chesterton Valley was, as
usual, a happy and cheerful interlude between winter chill and summer sunshine.
‘Interlude’ being the operative word as we just about managed to complete the
matches without too much dampness!!
The course was in good condition and those who were playing
it for the first time commented on the views, the undulations and the surprises
round the ‘dog legs’. The more experienced campaigners were able to offer
advice about which line to take even if they could not find it themselves!!
Seven players managed to score birdies and were presented
with a ball by Lady Captain. Anne Hill, David Williams, Paul Owen, Bob Griffiths, Elwyn
Beedles, Andy Davidson and Jim
The highest individual score of the day belonged to Lynette
Beedles with 43 points which seems to prove the benefit of warm weather
training! The results were as follows.
