'County Woman' article on President Pearl

Magazine article on President Pearl Dyas

This great magazine article for 'County Woman' (April 2015) stars our President Pearl.

It's a super piece of journalism and is a recommended read for all members.

Sculpture of Arscott GC.

'The Sculptures of Arscott GC'

This sculpture turned up on the course................it must be depicting the now infamous 'throw' of a 3 iron into the lake as one certain Rory M did recently on the USPGA tour.

If members wish to see this sculpture, it can be found adjacent to the pond by the memorial garden, near the 3rd tee.

Whoever created this work of art has certainly got a sense of humour.

Well done !

Chesterton Valley 2015 - 10th March 2015

Our annual Mixed Away Day at Chesterton Valley was, as usual, a happy and cheerful interlude between winter chill and summer sunshine. ‘Interlude’ being the operative  word as we  just about managed to complete the matches without too much dampness!!

The course was in good condition and those who were playing it for the first time commented on the views, the undulations and the surprises round the ‘dog legs’. The more experienced campaigners were able to offer advice about which line to take even if they could not find it themselves!!

Seven players managed to score birdies and were presented with a ball by Lady Captain.  Anne Hill, David Williams, Paul Owen, Bob Griffiths, Elwyn Beedles, Andy Davidson and Jim O’Brien.

The highest individual score of the day belonged to Lynette Beedles with 43 points which seems to prove the benefit of warm weather training!

The results were as follows.

1st place

Bob Griffiths

Dolly Stratton

Lynette Beedles

Paul Owen

89 points

2nd place

Andy Davidson

Yvonne Beaumont

Anne Hill

Jim O’Brien

81 points

3rd place

Brian Ince

Liz Griffiths

Tom Lee

Maggie Lee

78 points
