Who would have thought that listening to a great band (Swing 4), dressing up in uniform and singing songs rather loudly would make for a great night. It certainly was the case at the 1940's Charity Evening sponsored by the Lady Captain.
Some 60 members and guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Some did dress up - Well done Captain Mannering and Sister Inferior. ! Many others dressed up and there are some photos below.
Great band and good food / company. Well done Lady Captain. !!

Super food from Debbie; great dancing to music from the 'Cella Fella's' and lots of prizes with the raffle..
Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Lots of shouting at the entry of 2014.
If you couldn't make perhaps you can be there for next year. Happy New Year. !
Some 42 children came to the Childrens' Christmas Party on the 14th Dec 2013.
An excellent turn out for an excellent party. All the children seemed to enjoy themselves, as did the parents.
Everyone was excited to meet Santa Claus as the photo shows.
Well done Pearl D; Maggie L and the Ladies section for arranging such a great time for the children.
About 70 Adults and 30 children thoroughly enjoyed the Bonfire night.
There was a 'Guy' competition with prizes; then the bonfire was lit followed by a Magnificent fireworks display.
Once all that was finished we all went back into the clubhouse for the raffle and some great food and refreshments.
Exceptional value for £5 adults - Children under 12 - free.
A super evening.
What a great night. The 8 bottles of wine which each table had to taste were all very good, but after the tasting, what do you do with the rest of the bottle(s). Not to worry, the members had an idea. !! Howard (from Tanners Wines) did try his best to present the wines and try to teach the audience a bit about them..........and when the audience settled down, it was super. !
Tapas food was super (thanks Debbie) and there was a lot of it.
Good wine, Great food & Super company..........what more do you need ?
Great value at £12 as well.
A great night of Mexican music; drink and food. Some 50 odd members enjoyed the evening - some even going the whole hog and dressing up. !
Food was amazing thanks to Debbie and crew
